On November 5, 2009, Mr Truong Minh Nhut, Director of Ben Tre’s Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a reception and working session with Dr Pham Van Quy, Deputy Chairman of the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology and his entourage who are on a working tour in the South. There was also a special guest in the guest delegation, Dr Koo Bum Moo, Chief of Rep Office of the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH) in Ho Chi Minh City.

After hearing the DOST’s report about some of Ben Tre’s socio-economic situation and how the DOST envisaged Ben Tre’s sci-tech future, the two sides switched to discussing plans for next year’s cooperation, which includes several promising projects that may be beneficial for Ben Tre sci-tech development. Two of the projects appeared very attractive, and so Dr Koo Bum Moo asked for them to be outlined and specified, then translated into English and be sent to the KITECH in South Korea for consideration. Other projects would be put into consideration by the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology and other specialist organizations.
